Dr. Katie Dorsett, former SCDAA Board Member and pioneer in the fight for a cure for sickle cell disease, transitioned July 6, 2020. She was the first African American woman to be elected to the Greensboro City Council.

A public view takes place Sunday July 12, 2020, at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. A private service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020, visitation with the family begins at 11:30 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel.  Live stream services will be available. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Piedmont Triad Sickle Cell Foundation.
